Starting from September 1, 2025, Georgia will introduce a new type of residence permit — the “Nomad Residence Permit.”
The law has already passed all stages of approval and has been signed by Parliament. This new program is designed to attract IT professionals and their family members.
Who will be eligible for the “Nomad Residence Permit”?
Three categories of applicants will be able to obtain this new residence permit:

Employees of IT companies registered with Georgia’s Ministry of Health system;

Individual entrepreneurs working in IT and holding small business status;

Employees of international IT companies and their families.
What are the requirements?
To be eligible for the “Nomad Residence Permit,” an applicant must meet several criteria:

Have at least 2 years of experience in the IT field;

Prove an annual income of no less than $25,000;

Reside in Georgia for at least 183 days per year;

The initial residence permit will be issued for 3 years with the possibility of extension for up to 12 years.
