From September 25, 2023 to February 29, 2024, Thailand will introduce a visa-free regime for Chinese and Kazakh tourists visiting the country. Under the new rule, they will be able to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days without the need for a visa. This initiative was announced by the Public Relations Department of the Government of Thailand.
The measure is aimed at boosting the tourism season, which starts at the end of September, and strengthening relations between Thailand, China and Kazakhstan. Reports show that between January and August 2023, approximately 2 million Chinese and 100,000 Kazakh tourists visited Thailand. The government expects the number of foreign visitors to reach 28 million this year, generating 2.38 trillion baht in tourism revenue.
